July Blog Challenge – What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

Have fun and be creative!
July’s Blog Challenge: {Childhood Ambitions} Write a blog post about your childhood dreams, wishes & ambitions. What did you dream of becoming? What did you sincerely think you would do with your life? Where are you know along that road? How do you feel about where you are?
One Minute Writer – Parenting Differences: Now VS Then
From One-Minute Writer:
Write about a way in which parenting has changed since you were a kid (either based on what you observe, or on what the experts recommend.)
I really like this site because it gives an interesting prompt and then only 1 minute to write about it. However, sometimes this “prompts” me to write more. This particular writing prompt today did just that. I know immediately that what I wanted to say, wouldn’t get completed in only a minute. So, if I’m going to rant, I’m going to rant on my own blog. LOL!
Growing Through Adversity
Growing Through Adversity
From Creativity Portal
Wildflowers can show up in some of the most unpredictable places; in seeming barren fields, among a thicket of brush, or between a crack in the sidewalk. In spite of less than ideal growing conditions, something in that seed allowed it to ‘bloom anyway’. Today, share your story—or visual artwork—of how you too, despite conditions, bloomed anyway!
Writing Prompt – My Bucket List
25 Things I want to do in my life
I guess I’m in a blogging mood today. I was just tooling around the web and found this writing prompt on Creativity-Portal. They ask you to list the 25 things you want to do in your life. I immediately thought of the movie “The Bucket List”, which is all about writing (and crossing off) the things you want to do before you die. I like that idea, and therefore decided I needed to write mine down here.
Miss Vagaygay
I don’t know exactly how this is going to work. I”m not really very good about talking about my private bits, but then again it wouldn’t be called a “challenge” if it was easy to do. Over at Renegade Moms they are calling for a Vagina Monologue-esqe writing Challenge, and being that I love a challenge… well lets just say it was like a triple dog dare to me. So here’s my little contribution…
Sister Sister – Writing Prompt
I found this great site called The Sister Project which is dedicated to all things sisterly, be it actual blood sisters, friend sisters, or any other kind of sisters you can think of. Well, one of the blogs is written by Marion Roach who teaches a class on writing your own memoir called “Writing What You Know“. But on The Sister Project she is giving tips, tricks and prompts to help write your story about you and your sisterhood, whatever that is.

Acceptance and Abundance
Modern Married Momma wrote about her Life Purpose Statement and how to get your own in her blog today. Since I didn’t know how to create one of my own and feel the need for one, I figure I would try her exercise and see how it works for me.
Basically I’m answer the questions below. Some of them seem very simple, but I’m not sure if I have the answers to them. Read the rest of this entry »
Writing Prompt – Alphabet Soup
Write a 26-line poem using all the letters of the alphabet, where the first line starts with the letter “A,” the second “B,” the third “C,” etc., culminating with the final line starting with “Z.”
I found this writing prompt at Writer’s Digest. They had a bunch, but I liked this one the best. I figured I’d write the ABC’s of Manifestation or Law of Attraction. I hope you’ll enjoy it, maybe I’ll do this again!
Writing Prompt – How Has Love Changed You?
From Bella Online Journals Site – February 10th – This week is the Celebration of Love week. Think about a time in your life when you felt loved. Describe what that was like. How do memories like that influence your self-esteem today? How do those times of feeling loved shape who you are as a person now?
Writing Prompt – The Last Time I Cried
The writing prompt is from Build Creative Writing Ideas from his 20 free writing prompts page. The one that I felt I needed to use was this one:
18. Describe the last time you cried that didn’t relate to a movie, television show, play or book.

The last time I cried that wasn’t realted to a movie, tv show, play or book (which happens quite often actually) was on Saturday, Jan 24, 2009. Just a short 4 days ago. I found out something that happened recently that not only hurt me, but my mom and older sister as well. My neice, who is my brother’s youngest daughter, is getting married this summer. Which should be a happy thing, but it’s not… at least not for the family members out here in Las Vegas. You see, my mother and I are specifically, by name, not invited to the wedding. Not on accident, not out of respect, or anything good.. but out of simple petty meanness.
This isn’t a short story that can be explained in a few paragraphs, so bare with me here while I go back in time almost a decade (wow it’s really been that long!?). Read the rest of this entry »
