Finding Direction

I have found myself a little loss lately.  I’ve thought about blogging, but really, my motivation to write, blog, and talk has been lacking.   I guess I tend to go further within when I’m trying to work through something.  It’s not usually very healthy to bury yourself when you’re having a difficult time with something, but that’s how I roll.  Half the time, I don’t even know that I’m having trouble or worrying about something.  I don’t see myself closing up, until someone or something happens to point it out.  This time I knew I was retreating, but I didn’t know why.  I’m still not sure why I’m retreating, but I know that I need to figure it out and move on!  It’s time for some change to happen!

The Woman’s Belly Book

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you’ll already know that I’m overweight and have been trying to lose weight and feel good about myself.  Most of the time I feel badly about my body and that’s not healthy.  But there’s another part of me that KNOWS that my bad feelings are from the inside, and about emotional issues that I haven’t quite worked out yet, not about what shape my body is in.

30 Days of Truth – Day 3

Ok, so I missed yesterday.  Is anyone REALLY surprised?  LOL!  I can do two days in one though, so there.  I figure there aren’t any “real” rules for this, so I can do it any way I want to.  LOL!

30 Days of Truth – Day 1

Browsing through some of my favorite blogs I happened onto this really great idea. It’s a meme that doesn’t seem to have a “true” origin, at least not one that can be credited anywhere, but the two blogs above have all the info and are where everyone else seems to credit the start of their own journey.  So I decided to join along, and link to their sites as well.

Mental Health Monday – Hoarding

I watched this TV show last night, Hoarding: Buried Alive, on TLC (The Learning Channel).  It disturbed me greatly, but not because of how messy and cluttered the homes were… but how familiar it all was.  Although my house has never been anywhere near as messy or cluttered as most of the people shown, I know the tendency is there.  And that scares me!

Bountiful Baskets – Local Fruit & Veggies

A couple of weeks ago, a friend & fellow homeschooler, mentioned that she was just getting home from her Co-op with a ton of fruits and veggies for a GREAT price.  Of course I asked her where she got them and how much, and if there was any link she could send me.  She sent me the link to Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op.

Review – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Daily Sunblock

Neutrogena UltraSheer® Liquid Sunblock

I live in Las Vegas, NV where the summer sun is extreme. My son, who never burns, got his very first sunburn this summer because of how hot the sun is out here. He gets his darker skin coloring from my side of the family, but not from me directly. I am very pale, with lots of freckles and I burn VERY easily. I also have very oily and sensitive skin. I hate using most sunscreens and lotions because of my skin type. So when Neutrogena asked me to try out and review their new Neutrogena UltraSheer® Liquid Daily Sunblock, I was excited but skeptical. Could it really protect my skin from the sun in Las Vegas and keep me from feeling like I had my own personal oil spill?

Protect Baby- Protect Mom & Get a FREE Baby Jogger City Mini stroller

When I was pregnant with my sons I had heard about blood cord banking, but I didn’t know how to find out about it.  It was relatively new back in the early 90′s and all I had really heard about it was from various science shows on Discovery channel.  The internet was still new, so I didn’t even have that to really research it either.  If I had known about it I would have wanted to take advantage of this amazing scientific plan for your baby’s future and possibly even your other children’s future.  If I get pregnant again, I’ll for sure be wanting to do this!

Challenges and Goals

One of the things that you’re supposed to do when trying to be successful in anything is to set goals for yourself.  I have tried many times to set goals and challenges for myself in various areas of my life.  From weight loss to blogging (or should that be from blogging to weight loss).  However, I find myself always falling short on my goals and challenges.  Almost like as soon as I set a goal for myself, I do everything possible to keep myself from actually reaching that goal!  It’s maddening, frustrating, irritating… just annoying the living crap out of me!
