Confessions of a Blog Whore.
I love blogging… really I love writing. I always have. I wanted to be a journalist for a short time, until I realized that it was almost as difficult to get published as it was to get into the movies. That’s when I decided that I’d just write for fun. When I realized that I could publish my own works on my own website, it was fantastic! But few, if anyone, ever saw my websites. That is until I learned to blog and how to get my blog seen online.

Aloha Friday’s were started by Kailani over at An Island Life. She says that Friday’s are taken easy in Hawaii in preparation for the weekends. I kinda like this idea! She posts one simple question for everyone to answer on her blog and to participate on your blog you post one simple question. So this is mine:

Extreme Parenting – Confessions of a Liger Mom Pussy Cat
Yes, I said “Liger” not tiger! A Liger is half lion and half tiger. I’ve been reading about all the controversy over Amy Chua’s book and essay on WSJ “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior“. Her book is “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother. Amy Chua“. She uses the symbol of the Tiger as someone who is authoritative and powerful. Well if you know anything about Lions you’ll know that they are mostly lazy, but the females do all the hard work. So I figured, I’m sorta a combination of the two… with a little pussy cat thrown in!

There are a lot of people that I love and am thankful for in my life. There are people who have been supportive of me, who have helped me in so many different ways. But none of them compare to my mom. Even as a little girl I knew how lucky I was to have her as a mom, and that has never changed. That is why I wanted to say Thank You to My Mom today on this beautiful Thankful Thursday.
Dreamcatchers for Abused Children Fundraiser
Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is a non-profit organization that helps to save, and prevent child abuse of all kinds. They are an organization that I found out about through MommyPR. They do wonderful work and help to spread news, information and educate the public about child abuse. For a limited time One Busy Moma is helping them with a fundraiser to provide Scentsy Buddies to abused children. Let’s help them spread the word and give a little love and comfort to children who have none.
Tragedy Should Not Be Used As A Political Weapon!
Saturday morning while surfing around on Facebook, I saw a breaking news report that a congresswoman from AZ had been shot in the head. The events played out on my Facebook and Twitter that a young man had come to the congress woman’s “Congress on your Corner” event and had begun shooting. As the events played out, 6 were murdered and 13 more where injured. Among those killed were a Federal Court Judge and a 9 year old girl. Amazingly, the Congresswoman survived the attack, and the gunman was captured.

The Woman’s Belly Book
If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you’ll already know that I’m overweight and have been trying to lose weight and feel good about myself. Most of the time I feel badly about my body and that’s not healthy. But there’s another part of me that KNOWS that my bad feelings are from the inside, and about emotional issues that I haven’t quite worked out yet, not about what shape my body is in.
30 Days of Truth – Day 4
Something you have to forgive someone for.
Generally, I like to think of myself as a very forgiving person. I don’t really hold onto a grudge. I get mad, and then it’s over. However there are a few people that have been in my life that I have had a hard time forgiving for the things they have done. Here’s my list, in chronological order.
