Queen of the Castle
Say hello to our newest little addition to our family. Meet queen!
She’s an Italian Greyhound. Isn’t she just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen!?! She’s staying with us for a while. A friend of ours is going through some very hard times and couldn’t keep his dogs with him. So we offered to take one of them in until he gets back on his feet.
We were a little concerned that there might be some problems between Queen & Midnight (our 3 legged cat). But as you can see in the picture above, they don’t seem to have a problem with each other. Except when Queen starts eating all the cat food. hehe. Other than that, they get a long great. Well, great as in the cat doesn’t seem to care that the dog is around and the dog stays clear of the cat as much as possible. We’d rather Queen be afraid of the cat, then the other way around.
Queen is a snuggle bunny! We think she has a “Cat Complex”, in other words she sleeps all the time! Her favorite spot is snuggled up between the arm of the couch and anyone’s body. Or under the covers on the bed. Though she prefers to be snuggled tight up against a person for sure. That’s all she does all day long… unless we aren’t paying attention and leave some food out somewhere, then she’s jumping on the counters/tables to get to the food.
This is Queen at the dog park by our house. It’s almost like she never really got to go out and play with other dogs before. She was really nervous the first time we took her to the park and didn’t want to leave our sides. She still stays near us most of the time, but will run and bark with the other dogs more and more each time we take her. And if a slightly bigger dog comes to near her, she’ll come running up to one of us and start trying to jump in our arms for protection. It’s cute! LOL! And funny too.
We’ve had her for almost 2 weeks now, and we just adore her. We do hope her owner is able to get back on his feet soon so he can have all three of his babies back. But believe me when I say I’ll be sad to see her leave though. She’s just the sweetest most loving little dog in the world.
