I am so sick and tired of “The Race Card” and the “Sex Card” being played all over the place in our society today.  From the NAACP “hearing things” from a Hallmark Graduation Card to NARAL becoming enraged by an OH court ruling against a woman about her maternity leave, all that’s being said and done is not about Equality, it’s all about trying to be treated MORE special than anyone else.  And it’s not only ridiculous, but irritating and time consuming!  Not to mention tax payer dollar consuming!!  And I’m just SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!!!

Last week the NAACP forced Hallmark to pull a graduation card because they said that the card held racial slurs against black women.  WHAT!?!  Yes, that’s right.  Supposedly, this graduation card said “Watch out all you black whores/hoes”.  In reality the card said “Watch out all you BLACK HOLES”.  You know, those scientifically proven things that suck everything into them including light, which is why they are called BLACK holes, because not even light can escape them. Of course the NAACP heard an “R” in there so it’s a horrible racist card and no one can tell them differently!

I call SHENNIGANS!!!

When I watched the video of their press conference in LA about the card, I wondered how these people (and by “these people” I’m meaning the insane, not African American) could actually stand there and say what they were saying with a straight face.  I kept waiting for Tina Fey or some other SNL Hack to pop up and say “Live on Saturday Night” because that’s how bad it was… and how long it went on.  But alas it was a REAL (if you can call it that) press conference!  HAHAHAHA

Of course if you’re this Dallas County commisioner you’d agree with the NAACP anyway, because the term “black holes” is racist!  Yes, that’s right.  Those evil racist scientists back in who knows when (Steven Hawkings I think “discovered” black holes) are all racists for naming them “black holes”.  This commisioner actually said that they should have been called “white holes” instead!  Because that makes scientific sense doesn’t it?  When there is an absence of light, everything turns white… right???

Then today, which is the reason I suddenly felt the need to rant about all of this, I read a blog post on BlogHer.  Albeit, BlogHer is notoriously Left wing and on the side of extreme Liberalism, I do like some of the blogs on the site.  Of course when it comes to their political posts I tend to go into a rampage about how insulting and stupid they are.  But I digress.

This particular blog post was ranting about an Ohio court ruling on a sex discrimination lawsuit.  A woman was fired from her job because she “went on maternity leave without being eligble for it”.  Now, I’m a big supporter of Maternity and Family Leave.  Actually I’m a big supporter of moms working at home or staying at home, but the more time a mom can spend with her new baby the better.  HOWEVER, this specific case does not apply to that logic.

You see, this young woman took a job where they specifically say in their employment policy that an employee is NOT eligible for ANY type of leave, no matter what, until they have worked for the company for at least a year.  However this woman decided that they really didn’t mean HER or didn’t really mean ANY reason!  I don’t know if she got pregnant before or after she took the job, but that really doesn’t matter.  She knew their policy when she took the job.  So after 8 months of working there, when she was pregnant and her doctor said she shouldn’t/couldn’t work, she took leave of her job.

Now you would THINK that any right thinking, intelligent, responsible adult would understand that if you take a job and you read through your employment handbook, that you would know that you are forfieting your job if you take leave for ANY reason before your 1st year is up.  But evidently this young woman is none of those things.  She decided that because she’s a woman and pregnant, that those rules shouldn’t apply to her!  So of course, what does she do???  She sues her former employer for firing her for being absent.

Of course NARROL is ALL over this!  Calling Ohio all sorts of sexist and saying they are putting women back 50 years and other blah blah blah crap.  But I’m sorry, SHE decided to ignore her employers policies.  I probably would have too.  I don’t blame her for that.  If your doctor says  you shouldn’t work while you’re pregnant, then you shouldn’t work.  But to say that your employer has to give YOU some sort of special treatment because you’re preganant and a woman is rediculous!

If you take a job, you have to abide by their rules.  They don’t have to make it convenient for you!  They are PAYING YOU to do work FOR THEM!  In this economy, you can’t expect any employer to treat you special like that.  And that’s what most Liberal women are wanting them to do!

Ohio also had a ruling in favor of employers who fired women for taking “unauthorized” breaks for expressing milk.  Ok, hello, it’s UNAUTHORIZED for a reason!  I used to express milk when I had my first son.  I took breaks when I was supposed to do it too!  Wasn’t hard to do people.  You get a 15 minute break in the mornings and afternoons and a 30 minute break for lunch.  Why do you need to express the milk any other time?  So you can actually eat during your lunch??  Yea, it wasn’t EASY but that’s what had to be done.  You can’t follow the rules you suffer the consequences, no matter what gender, race or other you are!  PERIOD!!!

I’d really like to see some common sense in some of these cases.  I’d love to see “women’s advocates” say “ya know, she screwed up.  She did the right thing by her family, by her baby, but you can’t expect an employer to treat you special”.  That’s what ruins things for the rest of us.  Not the court rulings but the asinine lawsuits to begin with.  They make us all look bad.  Way to go!  Thanks!
