Review – CBS Hit Show Medium

About The Show:
MEDIUM is a drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois, an extraordinary young wife and mother who, since childhood, has struggled to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette stars as Dubois, a strong-willed, devoted young wife and mother of three girls who has gradually come to grips with her extraordinary ability to talk to dead people, see current events and the future through her dreams and read people’s thoughts.
To be totally honest with you, I’ve never really been a big fan of the show Medium. I”ve always felt like her husband wasn’t very understanding or supportive and I thought Allison Dubois was too whiney. I did like the story lines during the first season and that kept me watching most of the time. However, I stopped watching it after a while because I just couldn’t get to liking the characters that much.
Then earlier in the summer I got the chance to review a few of the CBS Fall Line-up and the season premier of Medium was one of the shows. It’s been a while since I’ve watched the show, so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to catch up with the characters or story lines. I was actually quite pleased to see that I was able to catch up quite nicely. There are a few characters that I don’t remember being in the show before, and some story lines that I was a little confused on because I had missed the beginning of them. But over all it was easy to catch up and get right into the story.
In the season premier there are a lot of plot twists that take so many different turns you feel like you’ve been driving on a mountain road. I certainly couldn’t guess as to where they were taking me on this trip, but I liked it. Although I still don’t like the two main characters as much as I would normally like, Allison is still too whiney and a little bit bitchy to her husband who is still unsupportive and not very understanding. However, despite the two main characters not being my favorite, the story was excellent! The ending of the premier episode is a cliff hanger as well, and I love cliff hangers, so they have me watching for the second episode of the season as well. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
