Free Cookbooks & Recipes
I love cooking. I have always loved cooking, and to be honest, I’m not that bad at it. I’d like to say I”m pretty good, but well, I just hate to brag and really have a hard time giving myself a compliment. However, most of the people that have tasted the various things I have cooked, like what I’ve done.
That’s as far as I can go with giving myself a compliment. Anyway….. one of the great things about the internet is all the wonderful FREE things you can find online. And when it comes to cooking there is a ton… and I do mean a literal TON!
One of my favorite sites for finding great recipes is AllRecipes.com. You can find my profile on the site, here. What makes this site so fantastic is that anyone can add a recipe to the database, and then anyone who tries it can add a review of it and whatever they did differently to the recipe. I use it all the time to find new and interesting things to make for dinner and lunch. Usually, I change something about the recipe to make it my own, but I am always able to find something that will make a great base for what I want to cook. No matter what you’re looking for you can find it or something close on this site.
Another one of my favorite websites is the Hill Billy Housewife. This is a great site for down home cooking and is also great if you need help with your budget. She’s got all sorts of great recipes, including things like how to make your own “Hamburger Helper” or home made bread, and other recipes to make yourself instead of buying the boxed stuff. We’ve used this site to keep our grocery bill down, and then when we had more money to spend, we used it because we love the food! I’d highly recomend going there if you love easy, from scratch, down home cooking.

Do you like using carnation condensed or sweetened milk? Well here’s a free Holiday Recipe Guide brought to you by Carnation. I love using Carnation condensed milk for different recipes, especially the different pies and baked goods my family loves. In this free recipe guide you can find some other great new things to make for your family for the holidays that are coming up. Yummmoh!
Want a free down home cookbook from the National Cancer Institute? Well here’s the Down Home Healthy Cooking: Recipes and Tips for Healthy Cooking – Provides recipes that are low-fat, high-fiber versions of traditional African American recipes. Some of my favorite types of food are in this cookbook, so I will be using this one a lot. You can find everything in this cookbook from Catfish Stew to Sweet Potato Custard. Again I’m going to have to say YUMMMMMMMOH!
